Aloha! My name is Mel Valmoja and i was born in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii and currently living in Waialua.
Where is this place you may ask, and can anything good come out of there? Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow. Ask and he will give it to you, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For he knows our needs even before we ask of him.
It was about 15 years ago when I purchased a Hawaiian Bible. The first scripture that I looked up was John 3:16. After memorizing that verse I recited it to one of the kupunawahine in church and she helped me in my pronunciation of some words, namely "ia ia".
"No ka mea, ua aloha nui mai ke Akua i ko ke ao nei, no laila, ua hāʻawi mai ʻo ia i kāna Keiki hiwahiwa, i ʻole e make ka mea manaʻoʻiʻo iā ia, akā, e loaʻa iā ia ke ola mau loa." Ione 3:16
At that point I enrolled myself into Community adult education to learn basic Hawaiian. I am still learning and would be the first to say that i have a long way to go. So to help myself in Hawaiian Language i started to use the memory verses that I learned in church, and memorize them in Hawaiian. Some of my favorite memory verses are salvation scriptures, then I would add a tune to sometimes make the memorizing easier.
Now, I have all these Baibala memory verses that are put to my original music. Please enjoy them and may it bless you. I Praise and Thank the Lord for allowing me to share in that he has shared with me. Mahalo Kumu Makia for allowing me to share on ALOHA BAIBALA. Mahalo God be with you all.
Mahalo Ke Akua!
